Groupe Bourbon opens a second shopping mall in Mauritius and adopts a new trade name for its hypermarkets : Jumbo ScoreGroupe Bourbon's retailing branch, Vindémia, will open its second shopping mall on Mauritius on August 26th 2003. This 21,000 m2 complex incorporates a 6000 m2 hypermarket operating under the trade name Jumbo Score. Located north of Port-Louis, this fully air-conditioned mall will offer Mauritian clients an unparalleled range of goods and services through some thirty stores, including an Agora, one of Vindémia's medium-sized cultural outlets, a "food court", and DIY, sports and household equipment specialists. The two hypermarkets on Mauritius will take this opportunity to change from the Cora trade name and adopt Jumbo Score. This change, which will be gradually implemented throughout Vindémia's hypermarkets in Madagascar, Mayotte and Réunion Island, anticipates the posted expiry of the supply and trade-name contract linking Vindémia and Cora at the end of 2003 and the group's new participation in the Casino central buying office. With this opening, following an agreement with the Rogers group in November 2002, Vindémia confirms its leadership of mass retailing on Mauritius with 2 hypermarkets and 11 supermarkets operating under the Spar trade name, 6 of which franchised. This overall business employs a payroll of some 800 staff-members. Groupe Bourbon's retailing business, in which Casino took a 33.34% shareholding through an increase of capital in December 2001, now numbers 16 hypermarkets and 24 supermarkets across the Indian Ocean and Vietnam. Vindémia's turnover for the first semester of 2003 amounted to 400 million euros, an increase of 10.8% in comparison with the same semester for 2002. Paris, August 25th 2003 Press
